Rules for using non-automatic return boxes

Which documents can be returned?

  • The return boxes are intended for returning books from the libraries where they are located; books from other libraries may not be returned via these boxes.
  • CDs, DVDs, laptops or documents on hourly loan may not be returned.
Anyone who fails to comply with either of these conditions will not be considered to have returned the item until they have handed it in at the library that owns the copy.

A few points to bear in mind

  • This drop-off box does not provide a receipt for the return. A book will not be considered returned unless it is in the library’s possession; therefore, it is the user’s responsibility to use this service.
  • Returns are not immediate; they will be processed on the next working day the library is open. Please check that the book has been returned by viewing your loans in My Account.
  • Returning items via the postbox is subject to the same rules as returning them at the counter, and the relevant fines will apply in the event of a delay.

Recommendations for use

  • We recommend inserting the book by the spine to prevent damage, and before you leave, please make sure the book has settled properly.
